Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOPs)
Providing Trauma-Informed Recovery and Rehabilitation Treatment
Beth Israel Lahey Health Behavioral Services offers intensive outpatient programs (IOPs) to provide trauma-informed recovery and rehabilitation treatment for those with behavioral health challenges.
Our goal is to help empower participants who may be at risk of hospitalization to maintain their independence and meet the demands of daily life through clinically extensive weekly support that goes beyond outpatient counseling.
We provide supportive and compassionate environments that allow participants to address the many aspects of recovery and manage symptoms and unwanted behaviors of behavioral health conditions, including those complicated by substance use. These can include:
- Anxiety
- Bipolar disorder
- Depression
- Drug or alcohol addiction
- Mood disorders
- Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)
Participants learn strategies and tools to help cope with and control troubling behavior, develop healthier relationships, and improve communication skills.
Our Treatment Programs
Partial Hospitalization Program
Our Partial Hospitalization Program provides clinically intense, short-term treatment for those in need of structured behavioral health treatment after a psychiatric inpatient hospital stay or to prevent worsening of symptoms that may lead to hospitalization.
Program sessions take place for at least six hours, five days per week, but patients are not required to stay overnight. Partial Hospitalization programs provide a higher level of care than outpatient therapy.
